Yum!! Honestly, I prefer a lighter peppermint taste. One of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes is essentially homemade peppermint oreos - they're topped with crushed candy canes, but the icing in the middle calls for peppermint extract. I use just a tiny dash, compared to the 2 tsp the recipe calls for...the first time I did that, it tasted like cleaner fluid, lol!

In our old homeschool co-op, a certain wartime drink called Mint Tinkle became notorious amongst the teens because I forgot to cut the recipe's called-for peppermint in half and it was SO strong that it left a very firm impression on those poor kids. Hahaha! 😂
