Happy October! I love autumn, but I really love October for celebrating vintage spooky things. And what better way to get in the festive mood than with vintage October magazine covers?
All of these covers come from my personal collection. There are a lot of fun ones out there I don’t own though. The Saturday Evening Post has some fantastic covers that I can only dream about…
You’ll notice a theme, but not every vintage magazine did something seasonal for their October issues. So, I’m featuring my favorites with definite Halloween vibes. I’ll be sliding in a few November covers too, because depending on their publishing schedule, both Halloween and Christmas would bleed into the November issues.

This cover is so wartime iconic! That “V for Victory” Morse code pumpkin is brilliant. I even used it as inspiration last year for carving my own pumpkin. Her expression is a little creepy though, don’t you think?
